A specialist air-navigation consultancy — ICAO PANS-OPS flight procedure design, aerodrome safeguarding and airspace efficiency — led directly by a qualified Instrument Flight Procedure Designer.
Altitude Nexus is a specialist air-navigation engineering consultancy. We work at the intersection of air-navigation safety, regulatory compliance and operational efficiency — turning complex ICAO, EASA and FAA frameworks into the procedures, surfaces and studies that airports and air navigation service providers can act on.
We deliberately stay focused. Rather than spreading thin across every corner of aviation, we go deep on what we do best: instrument flight procedure design (PANS-OPS), aerodrome safeguarding (Annex 14 OLS/OFS/OES) and airspace efficiency — backed by our own automation platform, ASIT. Every engagement is led directly by a qualified Instrument Flight Procedure Designer, so you work with the engineer who builds the work, not a layer of account managers.
Founder & Principal Consultant
Instrument Flight Procedure Designer (IFPD) · Creator of ASIT
Gonzalo Urra is an ICAO-qualified Instrument Flight Procedure Designer with over nine years of experience designing flight procedures, airspace and airport infrastructure across ICAO, EASA and FAA frameworks.
Before founding Altitude Nexus, he delivered air-navigation projects for leading organisations including ALG (Indra Group), SENASA and Airbus Defence & Space — spanning conventional and PBN procedure design (SID/STAR/APCH), TMA/FIR redesign and fast-time simulation, and Annex 14 aerodrome safeguarding for airports and ANSPs internationally.
He created ASIT to automate one of the most time-consuming tasks in the field — obstacle-surface evaluation — giving aerodromes and Civil Aviation Authorities instant, audit-ready ICAO Annex 14 and PANS-OPS assessments. He holds an MSc in Air Transport Systems (UPM) and a BSc in Aerospace Engineering (UPV), and is qualified in PANS-OPS instrument flight procedure design for both PBN and conventional navigation.
Every study and software output is produced to recognised international aviation standards.
Quality assurance manual for flight procedure design — applied from concept through validation.
Performance-Based Navigation manual — RNAV, RNP APCH and RNP AR design to modern GNSS criteria.
Aeronautical data quality — integrity and chain of custody across the data process.
